Oamaru Community Library is just that - a community of like-minded people willing and able to promote, not only books, but local events. Local authors, like Janet Frame and Kere Hine are featured. Staff are more than happy to help locate areas of interest and pass you on to other staff members, admitting when they have limited knowledge. The Head Librarian always has a smile to offer and remembers previously held conversations and helpful information, or an amusing story. Computers are freely available, or tablets are offered to complete business. Documents can be scanned and sent via email, so it's very handy to complete job applications, immigration or edhcation tasks
