Beautiful views usual to the NZ landscapes. However a word of caution to all to exercise caution when opening car doors. The wind is really strong and the door got swung out hard and wide and thankfully there was no car on one side and another with wide berth. Sadly our car got hit by other cars that came later (we were sitting and waiting in the car), but no one can be blamed as every newcomer will be greeted with their own disbelief and there can really be no blame on anyone as the wind will pick your car doors like sails. As we came back, we found new knocks that took out some of our paint. A good tip would be give a wide berth enough for potential swining doors and to open your car doors carefully and make sure your hands ALWAYS have full control of the car doors.

Great place to visit. If you are patient there is a very good chance that you will see these magnificent birds gracefully glide on the wind above you! The visitor centre is free to enter and very interesting. There is a cafe here too. The conservation work they do here is to be highly commended. If I had only one criticism it would be that they have pitched the one hour tour price a little high. Whilst the money goes to an excellent cause, $104 for two adults will put many off.
