The Exchange

Came to The Exchange two days in a row because their food and service was simply exquisite. After getting the savoury French toast the first day and was extremely satisfied with the flavour and presentation, I needed to try the sweet variant and was equally blown away. Lovely fresh food that I know the chefs took care with, and at very reasonable prices.

I think I went to this place 3 or 4 times during my few-day stay in Queenstown. Laid back atmosphere with great choice of food for breakfast/brunch. Some healthy and yet super delicious options were just making my days (e. g. their house dressing for salads was amazing).

This came up as one of the top spots in Queenstown for breakfast. Well, very disappointed. I ordered a the vegetarian option of the Big Breakfast, which involved swapping the sausage and bacon for unseasoned mashed avocado and wilted spinach. The eggs were over cooked, beans straight out of a tin, and overall barely justifiable as big. Definitely overpriced at $28. Vegetarian options: Poor substitutions
