Karatane Harbour View Point

A beautiful soulful place... we were there in July and we were alone ... did not see any people .... was great as there is a short walk along the foreshore to an old Jetty and you can continue along around the headland and join the walk through the Huirawa Historic site. It is also a short walk from the riverside to the ocean beach. Very interesting rock formations and an arch/blowhole eroded by the power of the ocean.

Real nice spot. You can look up the river and all the channels one way. Look the other way and you look up the coastline and watch the mood of the sea as the waves come rolling in. Walk around the point for some fantastic views of what the power of the sea can do as in pinnicals and caves. Very rugged coastline.
