I was aware that my remote was not working and I contacted the website. They responded promptly and suggested that I would clean the battery terminals. Which I did, and lo, the remote worked! I am going to send it to them after the winter so they can service it.

We purchased a escea fireplace in 2019 & are very happy with it. It generates a good heat in winter & I often dry my laundry in front of it during the colder months. The customer support is excellent. The staff I have dealt with are friendly, helpful & highly professional.

We bought a EW5000 complete with the structure and flu kit and a DX1500 with the multiroom fan and duct system a few years ago for our new build. We've tried to resolve the issues we've had many times with Escea only to have had the most frustrating experience. Being one of the most disappointing purchases we have made, especially given the price of these units we are writing this review. We've had multiple issues with the electronics in the EW5000. Luckily the local Escea approved serviceman was so good that upon hearing our frustrating experience with Escea he offered to fix the issues for us. The EW5000 is our biggest disappointment. Since day one the firebox and structure has been rusting away. Just by looking at the way the unit is crumbling away you will know something is not right. We've liaised with Escea for a while now only to be told to get an angle grinder from bunnings, grind the rust and paint. This was put forward to us as 'regular required maintenance'. We don't mind regular maintenance however if we continue to grind at the rate the box is rusting we'll have no firebox left in a few years. We are not talking about surface rust, the unit is literally crumbling. With no help from Escea we contacted other locals that have an EW5000 to draw on their experience and something we could do to preserve the unit at our cost. Unfortunately everyone's had the same experience we had with Escea and described Escea service as literally useless and a waste of time. Most people we spoke to are dumping their firebox and looking at replacements. We love the concept of the Escea products but quality and price don't match. Would strongly not recommend and would never purchase again.
