New Zealand Self Drive Tours

We had the most amazing 3 week road trip with New Zealand Self Drive Tours. They were responsive to any communication 24/7 and any problems ( not caused by them) were very quickly addressed. Highly recommended.

Our trip to the New Zealand South Island was made spectacular through the careful planning of Janette Bagley from the Self-drive Tours Company. Janette worked with me to plan this trip, carefully selecting experiences and hotels that would enhance our experience. She responded quickly to my emails with questions and adapted our tour when we asked for additional excursions. While we were touring she kept in touch and followed our progress. One time we left a suitcase at a hotel and she immediately got in touch so we could retrieve it quickly. I would highly recommend using the New Zealand Self Drive Tours, it made our trip so very convenient and relaxing, as everything was done for us. We just had to drive and enjoy the beautiful scenery! I really liked the app that connected us with our itinerary. The additional suggestions for sights to see were very helpful and enhanced our trip. We would go over all the suggestions each evening and plan out our drive for the next day. We had a wonderful time and would certainly use the Self Drive Tours again . have already recommended it to friends and family!

I had an amazing experience with this company. I did the 6 day Southern Lakes & TranzAlpine circuit. I wish I had the ability to do one of the longer tours. Tia was my organizer and they were incredibly helpful and answered even the smallest questions. I am not a big fan of planning, so it was nice to have this very detailed itinerary. The accommodations booked were very nice, and the whole experience was very easy to navigate. It was my first time doing this type of trip alone (I am 22), so it shows how easy this was to navigate. I definitely recommend.

Our family of 4 were glad to have Consultant Christina Brockie to help with the planning of our 11 Days New Zealand Self Drive Tours. Everything were well taken care of, from the moment we arrived at Christchurch, to getting the rental car, accommodation and the various tours. All were so well-organised without us having to waste a single minute. Of particular mention was the Europcar agent giving us an almost brand new (only driven 15km) 2L diesel car to begin our self drive tours. Accommodations at the various cities were also carefully selected for our stay Heritage Christchurch - a suite with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and 2 bathrooms at split level. Laundry facilities were also available inside the lower deck bathroom, too couldnt ask for more. By far, our most well-liked accommodation. Very friendly reception Mount Cook - a motel with 2 bedrooms, kitchenette with shared laundry facilities. Overall not too bad for a 1-night stay since we spent most time outside exploring and joining the Glacier Explorer tour (a must-do). Friendly reception. Dunedin - a 2-floor apartment with 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, kitchenette and shared laundry facilities. Very friendly couple owners who gave us a map tour of the city. Very Good hospitality, too, of welcoming us with 2 packets of milk. Te Anau - a special experience, once in a lifetime cottage stay at Blue Thistle Cottage. Super friendly and hospitable owner and host. She (Maggie) would ensure our meals were taken care of by driving to one of the famous restaurant to help us book a place for our dinner. I have never encountered such hospitable treatment. We were so fortunate indeed! Maggie also made us feel so welcome by giving us her homegrown tomatoes as treats! Gonna miss her! Queenstown - a more vibrant city with more shopping! Accommodation was ok. Reception ok. Should have better ones around though. Franz Josef Glacier - a night stay at Aspen Court Franz Josef. Didnt get to explore much as we arrived there in the late afternoon. So, our family just relaxed ourselves in the nice jacuzzi in our apartment. Nice kitchenette where we do our first cooking Last day, we drove to Greymouth Station to board our scenic train ride to Christchurch. Excellent views throughout. We were reserved in a super nice seat with a table for our family. Thank you to Christina Took a super early flight to Auckland to connect back to Singapore! We will definitely share such wonderful experiences with our family and friends! In fact, a number of my friends have already started to ask for Christinas contact to help plan their NZ self drive tours! Thank you so much Christina Brockie. Most deserved tour consultant! While Christina was away, I would also like to thank her teammates who had handled my Enquiries - Linda, Louise and another person (cannot remember her name) who helped to arrange an early pick-up on our return home trip to Christchurch airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our 22-day adventure in both the South and North Islands. Louise did an outstanding job of arranging all the details from various modes of transport (cars, train, boats, helicopters and drivers) to quaint inns to sightseeing excursions. Some of the many highlights were the Dart River Jet boat ride, Te Anau Glowworm Caves, Duke of Marlborough waterfront apartment and the Hapuku Lodge. During the planning phase, Louise took our preferences into account and was happy to make adjustments per our request. Whilst on our trip, the cyclone hit which resulted in necessary changes to our itinerary. NZSDT made arrangements for alternate accommodations and refunded us promptly. We were grateful for their quality customer service and highly recommend using them to plan your ideal New Zealand vacation!
