        This is the GREAT WALK you might choose if ... ... you want an easy/moderate walk ... love to spot a Kiwi (ca. 10.000 on the island) ... enjoy remote nature ... dont love too many people around you an the same paths. ENJOY!

        Beautiful Great Walk! Stewart Island is such a wild (and muddy) place. Definitely bring raingear and suitable hiking footwear. The huts along the way are beautiful and the trail is interesting. One of the best places to see kiwis in the wild. We heard them several nights, but didn't see any.
