        Beautifully restored steam train worth the stop to step onto an amazing machine.

        The Waimea Plains Raillway is a little treasure in the middle of the desert. It is located withing the rolling plains in the heart of Southland. The railway is run by a dedicated band of welcoming enthusists who take the train about a kilometer and back down a windy track. The old Rogers K92 classic steam train with a coal cart and carriage. Is a delightful return to the past glory days of steam trains. I would thouroughly reccomend a nostengic trip down memory lane.
