The staff were very pleasant. However, the food was a bit disappointing. The lamb rump was a little tough. We ordered the steak medium-rare for the surf and turf special, but it came out very well-done. Our waitress was kind enough to get us another steak. The steamed vegetables werent my cup of tea, since I found them a bit bland. The other sides were pretty good though.

Tried to book for dinner, told they didn't take bookings so arrived at 5.30pm to be told they couldn't sit us until 8pm but we could sit at a high bar bench and eat from there. Staff not helpful at all. Such a shame as food was nice.

We received excellent service from beginning to end. Didn't book a table but were shown to a booth straight away. Welcomed and drink order taken efficiently. Waited on by a lovely young man who was very polite and attentive. The meal was delicious for all 4 of us but my children had food envy when they saw my venison dish. The venison was cooked to perfection and the steamed vegetables perfect. After a week of lots of fast food and takeaways I was desperate for something fresh and tasty and it didn't disappoint. We will definitely be back next time we are in Te Anau - awesome place to visit!
