RaD Car Hire Te Anau

The manager over there is soo rude that we booked a car over a website and it shows all the cars available and we get to know the car we booked is not available and excess is too high and during the chat with that so Called manager he dont how to speak with customers and he is full of attitude. Will never ever recommend this particular place to hire a car and manager needs to learn how to respect his customers

Appalling. Rad is a franchise and this car is supplied by the local operator. The car is a smokers car! What I mean by that is that the car is likely to be a Japanese import that has been owner by a smoker. There is no way to get rid of the cigarette smell. You have to drive with the windows open. We only used it for the times we had to travel. If it gets hot, it is horrible. We pointed this out to the Rad people, and they advised we could bet a refund. In Te Anau there are no other rental cars available. they advised we could get a bus, that is, we could ruin our holiday by spending all our time on a bus! Check the car before you drive out. Absolutely appalling. Avoid at all costs.

Manager is friendly, but it is double the price of renting from other major city. Is the only car rental in Te Anau.. So no surprise there..

Only option to rent a car a Te Anau. Location is central to town centre. Transaction was easy, car had done over 180 000kms and had seen better days but was clean and tidy, did the job. Was able to leave at Queenstown near Airport. Was sent a reminder regarding booking the day before. Overall very happy with service and quality of car for the price.

They charged much more than others on insurance but still with an excces otherwise it was good.
