Descend Scuba Diving - Milford Sound

Fantastic day! Was surprised to see Milford Sound had scuba diving, and really glad I ended up diving with them. Skipper Lance and Instructor Zach were both fantastic, and had a great group to dive with on the day as well. Also, I know what rock sausages are now!

My husband and I had a fantastic day diving with Descend Scuba! The diving far exceeded our expectations, with lots of sharks, a ray, a sea horse, an octopus, and amazing black coral. Brit and Lance made the experience incredibly enjoyable. Brit was an excellent instructor for our drysuit certification (100% worth it!!) and guiding us underwater. Lance gave a great tour of Milford Sound above water before and after the dives. And there was chocolate, a tasty wrap, and hot coffee & tea between our dives for a recharge. Mahalo!!

OWD going into first dry suit dive experience. Buoyancy takes a little adjustment but nothing to write home about. If you've good buoyancy with a BCD this just takes a bit of tinkering underwater. Dive instructors were Brit and Alvie, led by captain that day, Lance. All crew members were exceptional, best of the best, while maintaining a fun and memorable experience. Dive instructors were super patient, and didn't seem annoyed. Lance is a South Island native with extensive ecological knowledge. Have fun, book this activity and don't regret it. Maybe be prepared for date flexibility last minute, and definitely be prepared for sandflies as soon as you get out of your vehicle.

Absolutely amazing experience. The team/ crew take excellent care of everyone on board and in the water. They give you a one if a kind tour of Milford Sound throughout the whole day including hiking access to an area only they can take tourists (bridal veil falls). Plenty of nourishment is provided between dives and it was very yummy. I was incredibly impressed by the equipment used and they spend time beforehand making sure you are comfortable with it. Very unique diving experience and more then worth the cost! I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Amazing diving experience and beyond amazing team. This was my first drysuit experience and Lance made things very easy and peaceful. At all times under water, Lance was vigilant while giving me plenty of personal space. We also did it in the middle of winter, and the cold was fine. I was always completely at ease. My mate and I also got into a bit of trouble with our car after the dive (yeah, somehow I went diving with my car keys...) Lance looked after us the next day while we waited to get that sussed. Simone is also incredibly organised and friendly, highly recommend.
