Fiordland Trails Trust - Lake2Lake Trail

A lovely ride between 2 Fiordland Lakes alongside the Waiau River for much of the time. Majestic Fiordland mountains as a backdrop most of the way. Good track surface with a couple of hairpins and steep climbs to keep riders alert. There is a narrow piece of 150m where riders are encouraged to dismount.

Well graded track but lots of scrub, limited views, and not yet complete to Manapouri (Feb 2021). The first 5km or so gives you some glimpses of the river, but you could walk that distance. I wouldn't fork out for a bike rental to do this again.

An awesome track lovely views along the way. Only spoiler was other peoples etiquette. There is enough room for everyone. If there are cyclists coming towards you maybe stay left and allow passing room. I know with the electric bikes you can go faster than my pedal power so please be a little patient. Thank to the respectful people I met along the track.
