        Good hut to take kids. Can virtually drive right to it. Does get some use by walkers on the Te Araroa Trail, also used frequently by hunters. Its a pig of a hut in the winter nad the cold as the smoke from the 'inefficent' fire tends more to come back into the hut rather than go up the chimney. A basic 6 bunk hut. From here it is a further 3.5 hours approx to Becketts hut. A dark hut also as it doesnt tend to get a lot of sunlight.
