Huge car parking space with basic toilet facilities. A great staging point for tramping or bush walks/hikes in summer. Great vistas of the surrounding country and occasional views of Mt Taranaki when it's not cloaked by clouds.

It gets very busy! Be prepared for a bit of a winding, narrow drive up the hill and to park in a random spot if you're visiting during a busy time. But once you've got your park, it's an amazing spot! Plenty of walks of different lengths and difficulties, we saw heaps of kids here too so looks like some walks would be family friendly. The falls are a short but steep walk away, totally worth it though. And the hikes that head up the mountain provide amazing views, can see Mt Ruapehu in the distance. There's drinking water and toilets here, as well as a small visitor centre.
