Such a horrible place with a pretty face. They left my grandfather on a mat on the floor on a mat used for feet, he was in nothing but a singlet and diaper with a fan blowing cold air on him and no blanket. There were many caregivers walking past that could have done something but they didn't care They also left him covered in bruises. I know that most were caused by the hoist and that because of health and safety they couldn't lift him themselves. This doesn't excuse the finger shaped bruises all over him also. Don't take your loved ones here.

Finding the right place for a loved one can be a hard decision. But I believe that we made the best choice in choosing Chalmers for our Mum, Barbara Daniels. On my visits i have been impressed by the friendly atmosphere, the helpful and friendly staff ( at all levels)and the general commitment to respect and care for the residents. Its great to see the activities provided and see Mum take part in them. Its also great to see how her wishes are respected and how well she is cared for. Thanks to all the staff for their help and their great attitude

If zero stars were an option, I would of picked that! My grandad had a stroke and got sent here to rehabilitate after 3 weeks in hospital. He almost died in here! In the hospital part! I once found him on the floor, lying on a mat for feet, wearing nothing but a singlet and diaper, shivering with no blanket! He was severely dehydrated and was covered head to toe in bruises!! He'd yelp when they used the hoist. He's a small frail man, I'm his granddaughter, and I can lift and move him myself. The hoist was unnecessary, painful and used as punishment! He had morphine listed as an allergy, yet they gave it to him everyday! To sedate him, so they didn't have to look after him! The only staff member that was actually helpful was Grant, an orderly; Who I can't praise enough!! We took him out of there, unable to move, not speaking, not eating, not drinking.. back home, where we got him walking again! Chalmers had 5 star reviews. We thought it was the best resthome around. It certainly is NOT. It's a beautiful building with nice views, that's it.
