What a great little place, hidden away, so peaceful and beautifully decorated in the Post Office theme. Meet the chickens and the sheep. Breakfast provided was amazing, fresh eggs from the girls and a pack of bacon with bread, jam and cereals. The weather packed it in when we stayed so we enjoyed our last afternoon snuggled up in front of the TV. Netflix and a choice of dvds keep us quiet. The hosts, Charlotte and Duncan were lovely people and wed definitely choose to stay there again. I heartily recommend to all .

My husband and I stayed here last week and were very impressed. Being just 10mins out of New Plymouth (NZ), on Egmont Rd, make for a very peaceful relaxing time with visits from 5 chooks will sipping on wine on the deck. The cottage itself is charmingly decorated in post office retroness (is there such a word?) with quality lined, towels, etc. and is very clean. The well equipped kitchen has a full stove (a bonus) and Charlotte provides yummy treats and plenty of quality provisions (best coffees) for your first day or so with eggs from your visitors. There are even toys and games for children, along with anything else you may need ie first aid kit, etc. We can highly recommend this place and the per night price is very reasonable. Charlotte made us feel very welcome and made sure we were comfortable and knowledgeable about what the area is all about. Our communication during booking was prompt and to the point. We highly recommend it.

Starting with the location, everything was just perfect. When we arrived, Duncan was already there to welcome us and walk us through the cottage. All the amenities you might ever need/think of were there: microwave, toaster, kettle, board games, TV, DVD player... you name it. Fancy a coffee? Just pick a capsule (from 4-5 different varieties) and put it on the Nespresso machine; cold night? no worries, just switch the electric blanket on; wet towels? hang them on the heated towel rack... We were told they would provide "some fresh eggs" for breakfast. Really? We were spoiled with plenty of eggs (actually, we were able to meet & greet the hens), bacon, milk, bread, butter, cereals, chocolate, instant coffee, tea... Kids friendly is just another understatement. Shortly after we settled in, my son was playing soccer with Duncan and Charlotte's children Ollie and Alex, trading cards, etc. and my little daughter found a big box full of toys to play with. In summary, our initial (high) expectations were greatly exceeded.
