OBC Opunake Butterflys Club & Freedom Camping.

A fair alternative to overpriced Opunake Beach Holiday Park. This site was all over the map with a mix of pros and cons. Pros- There was a fantastic slide and friendly bunch of ducks. The view of the lake is stunning and it was quiet. Cons- The toilet was basic, it didn't have light, so bring a torch for the early morning twinkle. The wildest part of this site was the toilet seat disappeared overnight and was floating in the lake in the morning.

Toilets close. Walks to both lake and sea close by. Nice views of mountain. Children's super slide. Nice safe blue tube slide Water close and shops and meals just up road. Only space for 5 vans.Book a Bach close as is pub food clothes shop and Farmlands shop. Art Gallery plus juice bar. Camp ground shop also close. Beach 200 meters down road. Public picnic tables by beach. Sheltered spot on flat ground.
