        The concept is a bit weird: pay money to be able to escape within an hour! However, these are SUCH terrific experiences! Each room has a backstory / theme. It is explained and described. Then the group is let loose to work out the puzzles, to open doors, to find clues, to solve tricks, and finally get free! These rooms help to build communities and teams. The mental agility is exhilarating! Staff in New Plymouth are enthusiastic, warm, friendly, energetic, and careful. Each puzzle is built with safety in mind. Each group is closely watched - for safety reasons - and also to offer hints if/when the group appears confused. A photo of each group is presented as a momento. Competition between groups is available and viable. As entertainment, it is cognitive and postmodern. I'll be back.
