Koi Lounge

Had lunch with a friend, food tasted good and the place looked neat and clean, that is the reason for two stars apart from that, it is very overly priced. We paid $20 for 3small lamb cutlets with little salad with an okay dip. Too expensive. Than we paid $20 just for a lunch size curry, that didn't come with rice or Naan. We than paid a separate amount for rice for 2people. A good and nice lunch meal at another Indian restaurant would have only cost me 14.99 which would have included both rice and Naan. This place is a rip off for your money on their highly charged meals. Will only visit if in large group or maybe not anytime soon. Very disappointed.

Have been a fan of Koi since the beginning. Was very happy to see Koi back open and merged with India Today. Food was delicious as always however I nearly fell off my seat when I received the bill. Im glad I revisited Koi, however I will not be returning due to the high cost for a curry (as I can see below you have gone straight for a customers jugular who has also voiced their own experience, please be kind, this is why Google have review systems, so each customer can get a feel before visiting your restaurant)

Unfortunately, this place has become a little overrated and the price does not reflect the quality. $30 curry, $7 naan, they even charge $1.50 for rice... Come on guys? $38.50 for a curry that is, well, the one that was served, is not better than your local competition... I'd rather shop around. Did have stuffed mushrooms as a entre, these were awesome. I'd like to suggest that I'd try again, but the competition around with their price points, you won't be our first choice, or our suggestion to our group for first choice of curry, we're finding a bargain by choosing elsewhere for same/better quality. Hopefully you haven't priced yourself out of New Plymouth. We will see.

As an Indian, i can confidently say the quality and authenticity of the food is top notch. What makes Koi lounge really stand out as well is the beautiful, regal decor and its ambience. I am looking forward to coming back. A place of this calibre is a credit to New Plymouth.
