This is the worst guesthouse experience I have ever had. This is an old retirement home converted to a guesthouse. It smells, bathrooms are old and dirty, the two rooms we were shown were an absolute mess inside. Also, know that the reservation that you make will not be guaranteed by the owner, Rachel. My wife and I reserved a room for 2 beds in a bunk room. They then put us in different room as "there wasn't availability" even though our reservation clearly says both in the same room. We asked for a refund as they changed our room conditions without asking us prior to changing. The worker at the time said that we will receive a refund and to process it through booking.com. Well, it appears the greasy owner Rachel has something to say about that. She refused to refund the money and even accused us of "bullying" her because we contacted YHA corporate office since YOU didn't answer one email or phone call from us for a week. This hole should be stripped of the YHA partnership for this disgustingly run excuse of a guesthouse.

It was new years eve and our booking for a private room was not registered due to a server error although we received a confirmation via hostel world. They were able to luckily fit us in a shared room. It was okay, the hostel could use a lot of basic maintenance and was generally outdated. It was clean enough, but quite hot and stuffy even on a rainy day. I have stayed at better hostels before.
