Well worth the drive. Wish we would have been able to arrive earlier to see the other set of arches and caves. Make sure to fuel up with petrol in Westport before driving here as there isn't many petrol options after this.

(Translated by Google) I came here by car, but the road is narrow and the road continues. There is a trekking course in the forest, and as you walk along the footpath where trees unique to New Zealand grow, you will find a large arch or a bridge-like eroded cliff that is very beautiful and makes you feel the magnificent art of nature. There is also a tunnel-like cave and its scale is overwhelming. A river that is brown and transparent like tea crosses the cave, and this is also a superb view. This brown bark turns brown or blackish brown due to the tannins (the same component as black tea) dissolved from dead leaves and driftwood. However, there were insects such as dragonflies around here. This place is very difficult to get to due to its location, but it's a nice place and I think it's worth going. (Original)()
