        One of the better DOC campgrounds we stayed at. The proximity to the beach and hikes is great. The road to get there is treacherous - 10km of twisty, turny, winding gravel road that is functionally a single lane. Like all NZ campgrounds we stayed at, the camp sites would benefit from more space and privacy between them and a picnic table and fire pit for each camp site.

        Didn't actually stay at the campsite tho for the beauty of the location and the looks of the camping spots I would very happily stay there. The facilities looked well maintained and looked after as it's such a popular spot. Regularly cleaned as there are staff that work there during the day Absolutely beautiful beach.
