Steve is a very kind and friendly host .He makes all the guests feel very comfortable and welcome. The bed is comfortable and the area is beautiful and quiet also it's 15 mins walk to the beach. I highly recommend this place.

Upon arrival we learnt our room had been given to another party. Reason given was it was the last day for bookings for the season although we had booked the day before! Shown a cabin and offered a mattress on floor for 71yo mother! Owner called other party after I complained about the situation, then moved their belongings so we could have the chalet. The front door didn't lock. Dust on all kitchen shelves. Old food bits in fridge. Dirt, mould on all window frames and bathroom basin. Blood (?) stain on bunk bed sheet. A window in the bedroom had no latch so was always open. Broken window held together with cellotape. So many spiders in bathroom. The dish brush was brown, had food and hair in it. Only half a roll of loo paper for 5 people! Not cool! Mice in the ceiling at night. No idea how this place had a 4 star rating! The positives were the heaters were wonderful and kept us cozy over night. It was peaceful apart from the pukekos screaming and mice in ceiling at night. Kids were excited there was a playground but all we found was a swing. Kids offered blueberries from the garden. We certainly had a good laugh, after the shock, but certainly won't be recommending this place.
