We had a powered campsite for a day which cost about 44 NZD and I would not recommend this place. So why is that? Lets start with the good: We arrived early at about 1 pm, and asked if we could park our car already at the site. The man was the only personnel we encountered there and he was really friendly and let us check in earlier. That sums up the good part. Now the bad: The reception is only open between 4pm and 6pm outside of that, youll have to call them and hope someone will come there. The area is a mix of a parking lot and a muddy construction zone, which leads to mud in the facilities like showers. The facilities are located in containers which is an eyesore and showers cost 1NZD per 5 minutes which is ridiculous, when you already payed. I also encountered a roach in the kitchen, which I will not include in my overall rating, because it might have been an outlier but I dont want to withhold it. So overall I would obviously not come again. Im not saying 44 NZD (shower not included) is a ton of money but there are numerous ways to get more value out of it.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying on a powered site for several weeks at this extremely well run campground. Amanda and team were incredibly efficient and friendly. The facilities were always kept clean. Kitchen is a good size with 3 sinks, electric hot plates, microwave, zip and large fridge freezer. Plenty of communal utensils onhand as well as the 3 P's.....plates, pots and pans. The pool table / table tennis table and dartboard in the recreational room are a winner on those wet days. We regularly visited the two massage chairs in the gym to sooth those aches and pains after a long days work...never seen massage chairs of this calibre at any other campground we've stayed at. Short walk to NPD service station for some pretty decent chicken and or a Close proximity to bike trail Fully recommend!!
