        We have stayed at the Pohutukawa Chalets twice, and loved it both times. The view from the decks of the a-frames is amazing: ocean on one side, rolling hills on the other. The owner is really lovely and helpful. The chalet was well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the secluded beach, only a 5 minute walk down the hill. We had a lovely stay, and it's a great location if you're looking to explore Coromandel.

        The views were spectacular, however the facilities were not of the same level. Very 1980's and dirty. Glasses were not clean and the dirt under the couch squabs proved it has never been cleaned. No dish cloths, no toilet roll holder, really needed a decent clean. The lounges outside were ripped, pretty shoddy!. sadly lacking in maintenance. We were the only ones there and never met the owner.
