(Translated by Google) Our hostess Sue was fantastic. Delicious breakfast, great facility and a good starting point for various visits to the beach (Lonley Beach, Cathedral Cove etc.). Barely 500 meters down the road is the Hive, a restaurant with delicious food and a wonderful outdoor area with real kiwi trees.

A HIDDEN GEM, SECLUDED, QUIET AND PEACEFUL, IN A GREAT LOCATION. We found this Bed and Breakfast, while looking for accommodation on the web. We wanted something not too far away from everything, but with peace and quiet. The room was very large and had a private entrance, although attached to the main house, it was more like your own cottage. The interior, my partner loved, it was softly furnished and had a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable queen bed, and large bathroom. The couches werecomfortable and with good reading material provided, was all we needed. We had our own private bush walks and the property borders the upper reaches of the Purangi Estuary. There was an amazing amount of bird life, I would imagine that the natural Punga ferns and Manuka growth would encourage them, and the closeness to the river. The breakfasts were delicious, and with homegrown produce made for a satisfying start to our day. Sue served our breakfast either in the garden or on the large deck overlooking the Purangi Estuary and grounds. We were able to sleep in some mornings, and have breakfast delivered to our room, which was a nice thought, and very much appreciated. Paul and Sue were most helpful, giving advice on the nicest places to visit and recommended some very good restaurants, very closeby. We loved Lonely Bay and the views from Shakespeare Cliff, and also walked down to Cathedral Cove, which was very busy with foot traffic. We took a large shovel to dig a pool in the sand at Hot Water Beach. All beaches were within a 5 minute drive of our stay. We also enjoyed making our own meals, and a gas barbecue was provided. Whitianga town was only 20 minutes away. We drove5 minutes to catch the passenger ferry at Ferry Landing and then walked to the supermarket. This turned out to be a perfect holiday, and would recommend to other travelers to book timehere, it was a wonderful little retreat. Thank you Sue & Paul for making this special place.
