        Well worth doing! Was confused initially as hike entrance states no dogs allowed however hike itself does allow dogs on leash. Track is well maintained and recently upgraded. Track is remote, quiet and impressively scenic. Hike is easy/moderate, good amount of stairs but balanced out by beautiful creek crossings and lovely views. Cookson Kauri is well worth getting to the top!

        Great walk crossing lots of rivers and beautiful native bush then onto around 800 stair steps then finally seeing the mighty kauri tree. Good fitness level required.
