This school definitely has its good experiences but you don't feel like it's a welcoming, expressing school due to the fact that teachers are so focused on the schools reputation and appearance that they don't even notice or seem to care about the amount of bullying in the school. It is like they just think the kids will "sort it out amongst themselves" when instead it results in dangerous situations. There's students in this school that have literally been chased down the road because of earrings?! And others being told to take off rings or the teacher would have a panic attack??? (she never did) They say it's a school for expression, but if someone even just bleaches their hair they're disrespecting the school motto. They're all liars too.

this school has made me cry many times. the teachers dont care about the students but more about how they're wearing their uniform, hair dye, rings and nail polish. my mtm teacher said she would have a full on panic attack if i didnt take my rings off. it doesnt do much about the bullying either. im being bullied by this group of girls for being a trans boy and because im different to them. the councellors say theyll call you back but they dont do that very often. the only times they call me back is when im absent which is what i find weird. i absolutely hate this school and the staff in it.

I have attended HGHS since I was a Year 9 till I was in Year 13. The teachers at this school were very lovely and caring towards their students and they have done their best to make me feel welcome. I will miss this school because I've spent my teenage-hood here. But I won't miss the stress from exams and assessments I had to do. Here are some advice I want to give to future high school students 1. Find a good supportive group of friends 2. Find a good supportive teacher who you can talk to openly about things you are stressing about at school or maybe find a good school counselor 3. Study early, don't do things last minute 4. Always work hard to pass! It doesn't matter if you don't get merit or excellence, achieved is just fine. 5. Participate in school events, they are fun to do and who knows you could make new friends. 6. Be respectful and don't get involved in pointless drama. It's best to mind your own business That's all I have to say at the moment. Best of luck to new high school students, everything goes by fast so enjoy the moment right now.

Terrible school, the teachers/management dont do ANYTHING about bullying. I will forever be traumatised by my experience here. They seem to care more about hair colour and nail polish than actually improving your life. Some teachers are unfair and on power trips. No self empowerment is taught.
