        My partner and I and our fur baby have just spent the most wonderful week staying in Bird Cottage (South Claragh Accommodation) in Taupo. The little farm cottage was nestled under a beautiful stand of tress with ferns around us and bird song to gently wake us in the mornings. It wasn't hard to get out of bed so we could sit on the verandah and have our breakfast looking at the 3 very quite Long Horned cows over the fence. It's just as it is advertised, very quaint and took me back to some lovely childhood memories. There are some fantastic walks very close by, including mountain bike tracks and of course access to the lake via Kinloch and Whakiapo Bay. If you are not needing to travel back and forth to town it is an excellent retreat to go and hide for a week. Highly recommend this little slice of paradise. We even had a visit from our hosts 5mth old fur baby (happy days).
