Abundante B&B on 7 Marlowe Drive Cambridge

PLEASE NOTE: This review and the photos already here are of B&B on Marlowe at 7 Marlowe Drive - however the title Abundante is incorrect - that is a separate property at 8 Marlowe Drive and we are not reviewing that. We spent 2 nights at the fabulous B&B on Marlowe (@ 7 Marlowe Drive) and were blown away by the warmth, generosity and hospitality of our hosts, Doug & Felicity. We arrived in the early afternoon and were delighted with the quiet, leafy street, the well maintained garden and the absolutely glorious Magnolia tree in full bloom - right outside the kitchen window. We had selected the larger suite with ensuite and a sofa - but ended up spending most of our time on the super comfy couch and recliners in the guest lounge/living room. The breakfast provided was excellent - fresh bread, eggs, a variety of cereals, spreads, coffees and teas, alongside a fresh fruit salad, a fruit bowl and a selection of yoghurt. We had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen as well. The location is perfect. We didnt have a car for our 2 day stay and didnt need one - it was a flat 15-20 minute walk to Cambridge - and fun to walk over the high bridge the first time. As soon as you reach the main road in Cambridge there is a fruit/vege/minimart - very extensive - with anything else you might need and on the other side of the road a great fish & chip / burger / chinese joint called Happy Days - we tried all three options and can report we didnt actually have to cook at the B&B (though everything was there if wed needed to). In the bedroom, the linens were of high quality and the property was spotlessly clean. The highlight for us was the jacuzzi in the secluded garden, nipping out in the cosy white robes with the bath sheet spa towels and soaking in pristinely clean, clear, bubbling water. Its a couple of small things but well worth noting - the two robes provided were an XL type size and a medium - perfect for us and so much appreciated compared to some of the one size fits barely anyone options occasionally provided. Also of note, a separate, dark coloured flannel/facecloth in the bathroom for removing makeup - really appreciate that as I have significant guilt when I need to use a brilliant white cloth and ruin it... All up, we had a superb stay at the B&B on Marlowe - our only regret is that we didnt stay longer. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it as a top notch option in the area - huge bang for buck.
