The Olive Grove Suite - luxury apartment-style accommodation in the heart of Cambridge NZ

Spent the weekend here attending the NZ Sec Schools North Island Rowing champs at Lake Karapiro. Although it said luxury, I did not expect the quality, so was very pleasantly surprised. Kim the hostess was lovely. You get a carpark out front and can come and go without disturbing the resident owners as they live in a different part of the house. It is only a very short stroll to Cambridge shops and great restaurants, so we were thrilled to be able to go out for dinner and not have to worry about how to get back or overly think about how much alcohol we consumed. This place is very very near to the first bridge over the Waikato river so very handy to get to Lake Karapiro and it was a nice change to not have to navigate through the town when going back and forth to the lake each day. The owners clearly have a VERY high standard of what is "luxury". This place is beautifully appointed with great air con and double glazing so super quiet at night. They provide food for breakfast and the quality was fantastic with an emphasis on fresh and organic ingredients and includes a dishwasher. They even provided a few treats!.. The free Wifi is fast and unlimited and they have SKY TV (Cable TV ). If you don't mind paying above average rates but expect to get what you pay for and your traveling without children, then this place will not disappoint. They even came every day and changed the towels and topped up the fruit etc. Made my own bed in the morning.. so I don't know if they make the bed each day. We will definitely stay again..
