Chalet Frodo is indicative of its name as its a tiny home made for a hobbit. The positive is that its close to Hobbiton which is a fantastic experience. The marketing walk through video of the chalet is deceiving and isnt an indicator of where youll be staying. The chalet was not well cleaned and has minimal privacy from the other guests. We may have had a different experience/expectation if the price was $200 instead of $360 for a Saturday night.

We stayed at the HOH for our wedding. This accommodation was absolutely perfect to house ourselves, bridesmaids, grooms and family. We used the main house to get ready. It was very clean, set up well, spacious and lots of natural light. Melissa and the team were excellent to deal with - responsive, accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay extra special.

Overpriced and misleading title. Paid almost $200 for 1 night and it is the size of a shoebox... There was nowhere to open up your suitcase or to store things. I don't know why it's called Chalet Frodo when there is no Hobbit or LOTR theme about it... You pay a fortune to stay a night and you receive multiple messages telling you to wash dishes, put away items, take rubbish etc or be charged a cleaning fee and be on the cleaners bad side! How ridiculous. Do not recommend.

Updated: No, no dogs - your husband called us during lockdown and started abusing us because we could not leave Hamilton to complete the booking we had made prior to COVID. Also the woman/Disc Jockie was very tardy with communication and avoided emails and or any responsibility I had booked this business via Grabone, we currently live in Hamilton East. From today the alert levels changed to include wider areas of Waikato region, meaning we unfortunately are unable to leave our border. Upon requesting a refund (as per their t's & c's) I was phoned by a man and abused over the phone. Firstly as a business you need to consider issues that are outside of the consumers control and secondly if this is how you run a business (abusing the consumer and not upholding your obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act amended to include COVID 19 levels 3 & 4 ) then we would certainly not enjoy staying at the place. Unfortunately in my experience with this company I cannot recommend.
