Okauia House

Absolutely perfect stay! The views are fantastic and its driving distance from Hobbiton. The washroom with the three shower options were something weve never come across on our holidays - weve never enjoyed showers this much The little touches were what made this place such a pleasant place to be in (coffee machine, fruits, selection of tea, the towel warmers, selection of cereal, the really useful file of information about the area). Lastly, and most importantly, the 2 lovely and friendly cats who just called for our attention. They are so huggable and endearing. Love their purrs. Wish we could have spent more time with them.

A tasteful, peaceful, near new and luxurious space, with a charming country outlook. We enjoyed the sunset view from the private outdoor dining area. The bed is large and super comfortable, the huge shower is incredible, with water jets in the wall,, as well as having a normal shower. The wonderful hosts are welcoming, sympathetic, and generous. It's totally worth making a detour just to stay here. We have stayed twice so far, and would definitely recommend this lovely place to friends.

Great location - close to Matamata and Hobbiton as well as down the road from the Hauraki Rail Trail which were the reasons we stayed at Okauia House. Miriam, the host, communicates promptly and is extremely accommodating! Beautiful views, amazing shower, clean, heated floors in the bathroom, kitchenette with treats and cereals. Honestly couldn't ask for more! They also have a friendly, beautiful cat that gave us a visit :)
