The Lodge at Hare's Rest

Rooms: The room was comfortable and cosy with a gorgeous fire to warm the place up. The big ranch slider had awesome view and the bed and pillows were really comfortable to snuggle into. Nearby activities: U could go to the thermal hot pools. Huka falls jet boat. Trout fishing. Have a massage or pampering in town. Food & drinks: The food and drink options were exceptional. A very generous breakfast was included and you can also purchase dinner and an amazing platter once u get there. The value for money here is good.

We can highly recommend Hares Rest. The lodge was just so gorgeous with its lovely fire and beautiful outlook and we were so spoilt with delicious breakfast supplies, home baking and even Easter eggs for the children. Alli and Glyn were amazing hosts and even took the children out on the farm buggy to feed the sheep. They definitely went above and beyond and made it such a special stay for us. We will definitely be back!

Hares Rest is absolutely perfect. What an exceptional piece of paradise Ali and Glyn have created. Ali and Glyn are the most amazing hosts - - going above and beyond all expectations with ensuring all dietary requirements were provided for, including two vegans! The grounds are stunning. Such a serene, green, tranquil space to wake up in. Our only regret was that we didnt stay longer. We will definitely be back and can not wait to try out the pizza oven! Highly highly recommend!

We had a wonderful long weekend at Hare's Rest, we've found our new favourite place to stay in Taupo. The hosts Alli & Glynn are so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The lodge and surrounds are beautiful, the property is off grid, peaceful and quiet but still an easy drive to town. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Thanks so much!

(Translated by Google) In March 2023 we were on the road in New Zealand for 3 weeks. At the end of this trip, one thing is certain: Hare's Rest at Alli and Glyn's was the very best accommodation we had. Not only the really architecturally very beautiful cottage and the great garden area but above all Alli and Glyn as hosts are special. It was so nice to be spoiled by Alli. Homemade bread, biscuits, eggs from the Henriettas, jam, muesli, onion chutney: all homemade again!!! The daily question, what do you need? And last but not least, we also got bread, eggs, jam and Chatney for our onward journey. It was so warm and we felt like we were old friends for a long time. Meg, who was already standing in front of the door in the morning ready to walk through the garden and in his childish high spirits didn't know what to do with all his love, made us feel very welcome and at home. And finally, Glyn came around the corner as a car rescuer and made sure that we were able to continue our journey at all! Many thanks for this great experience! Ute & Birgit (Original) Im Mrz 2023 waren wir 3 Wochen in Neusseland unterwegs. Am Ende dieser Reise steht fest: Hare's Rest bei Alli und Glyn war die allerbeste Unterkunft die wir hatten. Nicht nur das wirklich auch architektonisch sehr schne Cottage und das groartige Gartengelnde sonderen vor allem Alli und Glyn als Gastgeber sind das Besondere. Es war so schn von Alli verwhnt zu werden. Selbstgebackenes Brot, Kekse, Eier von den Henriettas, Marmelde, Msli, Zwiebelchutney: wieder alles selbstgemacht!!! Tglich die Frage, was braucht ihr? Und zu guter letzt haben wir auch noch Brot, Eier, Marmelade und Chatney mit auf unsere Weiterreise bekommen. Es war so herzlich und wir hatten das Gefhl schon alte und lange Freunde zu sein. Auch Meg, der morgens schon bereit zum Walk durch den Garten vor der Tr stand, und in seinem kindlichen bermut gar nicht wusste wohin mit seiner ganzen Liebe, hat uns sehr willkommen und zu Hause fhlen lassen. Und zum guten Schluss kam Glyn als Autoretter um die Ecke und sorgte dafr, dass wir berhaupt weiterreisen konnten! Herzlichen Dank fr dieses tolle Erlebnis! Ute & Birgit
