New Zealand Cheese School

A lovely lady at Farmlands Ngatea referred me to the NZ Cheese School as she had attended a course earlier in the year & thoroughly enjoyed it. You see, I'm in the process of milking my Saanen goats with the intention of making my own cheese...so after a few unsuccessful attempts I went online to check out the NZ Cheese School. It just so happened that a DIY Feta & Mozzarella 1day Workshop was running the next day so I managed to secure the last available placement, booked my accommodation & drove 6 1/2 hrs across country from little Ruatoria to Putaruru that same day. Our course was full of interactive hands on activity & information & to top it off we were privy to taste testing a range of Over the Moon award winning cheeses during our breaks. Neil & Sue facilitated an awesome day hosting 16 of us from all various backgrounds, ages, nationalities, some local or neighbouring provinces & me from the most eastern side. At the end of the day we were able to take home what we made & purchased all cheese making equipment, cultures etc to get ourselves started at home. My first attempt at home 2 days after the course was nearly perfect. I little tweek as advised through email by Neil & Sue & my Feta is tracking nicely. Now to tackle my Mozzarella...lol.
