Ultimate Builders

Ultimate have been really good to work with. Only reason for 4 stars is to reflect the fact that there have been some issues that have come up, however Ultimate have been quick to address these and resolve them.

Im absolutely gutted with my recent (and ongoing) experience with Ultimate Builders. My very kind and generous Uncle and Aunt put down a deposit on a new home for me, through Venture Developments which evidently is being project managed by this outfit. This is to be my first home, as weve discussed the potential plan for me to at at some point look at purchasing the property. Ive been excitedly looking forward to getting to pick details / colours of the internal fit out as I knew exactly the look I wanted and never thought Id get the opportunity to do this. But sadly, thats been taken away from me as theyve assigned a colour / internal fit out option to it with no prior discussion. We (my Aunty and I) only discovered this upon enquiring as to when wed get to make our selections and discovering theyve already chosen a palette which as it turns out is one I strongly dislike most of and would never have chosen - especially the flooring colours. Instead of showing any willingness to compromise theyve just gone about trying to get their lawyers to make some point about specifications in the contract (which were obviously never clearly articulated as we would have remembered this!). The build is still nothing more than a blank slate with bare concrete and gib and plaster walls at this point. Given its a tiny duplex and no flooring/carpet or tiles would have been cut yet, no paint mixed, and theyre all just standard ranges, it seems completely unreasonable to me that theyre more interested in proving themselves right somehow and not being inconvenienced than they are in actually ensuring they have customers who are going to be happy with the delivered product. If the roles were reversed, my focus would be on negotiating a happy medium at least and advocating so my customers werent left so disappointed. Instead of allowing me to choose a colour I actually like from the same range / supplier of at the very least the flooring theyre refusing to budge on anything. I go between feeling upset and angry, with sleepless nights, and feeling like what was meant to be an exciting and blessed time has been tainted for me and I also fear its caused some tension between my Aunty and I. Based on this, I certainly wont be recommending the services of Ultimate Builders to anyone I know. And will be unfortunately having to tell anyone I speak with about this experience or visits my new home in the future about this.
