The double cabin was spacious and clean and handily located opposite the toilet block. The shared kitchen and games rooms were huge and very clean. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the ear plugs by the bed to block out the trucks passing (so many trucks! bring back rail!) and the comfy bed and linen. A lovely spot opposite the lake. Great value.

This review is for the Glamping Domes: First of all, please be aware that it is stated in other reviews and also informed of upon checking-in that the highway noise is indeed loud at all hours throughout the night, and depending on weather the wind can contribute to the noise too. Traffic seemed to die down between 12-3am, and the room has ear plugs. BUT do not let this deter you from staying! The views and access to lake is definitely worth it, as well as the cosy dome set up! Bedding and pillows were comfy with the electric heater coming in very handy. Tv has smart channels but wifi isnt connected, but they offer free movies to watch from a dvd library from the front office to borrow. Tea/ coffee station with complimentary milk and water bottle, theres a tap outside the door where you can refill jug. Shared bathroom block was clean and is a short walk away which isn't too big problem, this area was next to the shared laundry and kitchen block that had fridges for storing food if needed. My suggestions to have in the dome would be tea towels for drying cups, a small torch for night-walks to toilets and a small hanging line/ horse for wets. Insect repellant is a must for the little nibblies do not forget this! Cant wait to stay again but for much longer. Thanks Motutere Top 10! Noteworthy details: Glamping domes on lakefront

This is my families third trip to this park and it will continue to be our go-to destination for camping holidays. We had a very traumatic experience when our gazebo and tent caught a gust of wind and tore in half with my 3 year old daughter trapped inside asleep just after midnight. The service we received from the after hours staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond to help us out, promptly found us a cabin and checked in on us the day after. Exceptional customer service aside, the destination itself is beautiful. The campground is always clean and tidy and the lakefront sites are unbeatable. Highly, highly, highly recommended!
