Villa Walton

Rooms: This is a large Villa and the rooms reflect the setting but my room (kindly upgraded - the Bray room being a nod to history) was simply Fab. Great - modern - warm - with top end linen in a room that has been carefully modernised without losing the Villa charm. You are near farms and the railway of course because you are in the Waikato country. Very nice.

AMAZING HOTEL !!! Beautiful garden and comfortable bedrooms paying attention to EVERY single detail. Everything extremly clean. Charming owners. Also super good and delicious breakfast We have been in different hotels in Australia and NZ during the last weeks and this has been THE BEST with difference ! It is a pity that we are to stay only one night ! Really good hotel. Highly recommended !

Our stay was short but unforgettable at Villa Walton thanks to the love and attention to the details from Sue and Neil. Incredibly beautiful cottage in such an amazing environment as the Matamata area is. We arrived quite late but the check in happened in a quite expedite way thanks to the kindness and flexibility of our hosts, who had everything ready for us and gave us some restaurant recommendations in Matamata. The cottage is like a dream and so the room. Clean, beautiful, warmWe felt entirely at home. The early breakfast (first breakfast, for hobbits like us), handmade by Sue was simply amazing and put us in the right energy level and mood to visit Hobbiton afterwards and keep at our best almost till dinner!. But, above all, its the kindness and love distilled by Sue and Neil which made our short stay experience at Villa Walton memorable. Thanks dear hosts for your warmth of heart and professionalism. Just stayed over at this amazing 5 star B&B in Matamata region of NZ north island and cannot recommend it highly enough. Neil and Sue are the perfect hosts as well as being top chefs. Hubby and I felt very pampered so if you are looking for a piece of paradise tucked away in a tranquil, beautifully appointed period cottage with amazing gardens the Villa Walton is it!!
