We planned to use Pedal and Paddle to hire kayaks from to look at Donut Island. Pedal and Paddle ensured that we were only able to head out in the safest of conditions with all the safety gear and with a group. They kept us up to date on conditions and were very knowledgeable. Affordability and safety spot on.

These guys are great - very happy with their customer service. We freedom hired the kayaks and once out at Whenuakura Island we waited for a group to go in before us. This meant we had the interior to ourselves (2 kayaks). Awesome experience- highly recommend Pedal and Paddle!

My parents and I hired a double and single kayak today and we found the whole experience fantastic. We really appreciated the freedom of the unguided tour. We were given clear instructions on how to get to Whenuakura Island, and given a very reasonable time frame in which to do so as well. Dry bags were provided (free of charge) if you wish to take your phone or camera along with you to take photos. We really appreciated how reasonably priced ($100 total for the three of us) and straightforward t everything was. Thank you!

  • DANIELA JEIFETZ,

Terrible experience. They just tell you if the ocean is too rough don't go inside. But it was fine the first couple of minutes getting there but once inside de cave, huge waves flipped me and 4 more kayak agains the rocks and we all hurt ourselves. They should have canceled because the wind was intense for a couple of hours and the conditions were not acceptable, but instead they blamed us. All hurt, stuck in the small piece of sand we finally reached after trying not to hurt agains the rocks again, terrified and lost our things while trying to reach some signal to call for rescue. Trying to exit the cave again the waves hit us against the rocks. No refund, no caring at all and on top of that rude. Disappointing. Would never recommend this company to anyone. They do not take any responsibility just want your money. I hurt my shoulder, ankle and wrist and two other guys were bleeding. It could of ended much worse and a trauma for sure. This is the last photo we have before everything went worse and screaming and crying began. We landed on the island because we were terrified, hoping not to drown while the waves push us against the rocks, already hurt and desperate for help. But it is clear that you worry more about your business than the customer experience.
