Unfortunately we had a bad experience here this morning and Im posting a review due to poor handling of our issues when we were there. Firstly there was a misunderstanding when we ordered the coffees so we got the wrong sizes. No big deal but in the scheme of things its worth mentioning. Then our food came and one had requested sourdough but it came with multigrain. Again, no big deal but it all adds up. Paid $6.50 to add smoked salmon to scrambled eggs and its was hot smoked (would have appreciated if this was specified at the time of ordering) and it was inedible. It tasted like it was going off - had a very strong fishy flavour that salmon doesnt usually have and was extremely pale in colour. I eat salmon multiple times a week and couldnt eat this. Then one of us discovered a fly in their iced coffee. It was in a takeaway cup with a lid so hadnt fallen in there since receiving it. We took it back to receive no apology but they made a fresh one. The next one also had a fly in it again!! And once again there was no apology at all, they just made a fresh one. The staff were very unfazed and unapologetic which was strange. The portions were small and everyones order was covered in this nasty basil reduction. Probably to mask the taste of the poor food. The coffee tasted okay though. Id recommend just grabbing a takeaway coffee here but dont stop for food. There are much nicer places along the Main Street.

The best coffee in whangamata...definitely have to try the cheese scones...delicious..staff are wonderful best of is Sam.
