Best decision ever to use Hike and bike for my husband and I to Hike the coastal trail . Gavin was absolutely fantastic, made the entire experience so easy and stress free. Would absolutely highly recommend.

I highly recommend this trip. The hike, and the optional Muriwai hike were wonderful. I considered driving up there myself. After all, I was already paying for transportation since I had rented a car. However, it wasnt long into the drive that I realized I had made the right choice. The road up was closed, Gavin knew when it would open. If I had gone myself I may have been waiting a long time. Next a large truck came at us taking up almost all of the road. Gavin had to back up for at least 100 meters to pull over on the gravel road to let the truck by. Being a passenger made the ride enjoyable. I was able to see the stunning scenery. Otherwise, my full concentration would have been on the road. I would have arrived at the walk completely stressed out. With Gavin he dropped us off at one end of the Cormandel Walkway and picked us up at the other on a beautiful beach. From there he drove us to another beach, with the option of the Muriwai walk-which I highly recommend-where we had tea and brownies. The drive back again proved to me that this tour was the best option for seeing this beautiful remote section of New Zealand. The road back was even narrower and in worse condition. Gavin had to deal with many vehicles, some driving too fast around corners and some pulling big boats. Gavin was an excellent driver, very pleasant and helpful and provided us with interesting facts.
