Hilton Lake Taupo

I am aware that Covid has made staffing difficult, but why do you need to give a time for a buffet breakfast, and when you enquire at reception for room service you are told that there is none. On top of this the menu for dining didnt change over our 3 day stay, told that due to low number of customers they don't bother, perhaps if they were more inventive they might get more customers. We booked in a group of 9 and had to have a 6.30 dinner sitting despite the fact that the restaurant was less than 25% full and it took the senior staff nearly 20 minutes to attend to our table. The junior staff are doing an excellent job, however the senior staff are letting the whole team down. And to make matters worse check in was slow and painful. The hotel is also quite a way out of town, with nothing nearby in the way of shops etc. This is the second Hilton our group has stayed in whilst in New Zealand and neither had great service.
