I strongly DO NOT recommend this company. If you want to save yourself from trauma, mental torture, and continuous direct or passive threats, RUN! Business model: Present the lowest cost to customers, Once you pay the first design and engineering payment(around 12k) then you will be exposed to the real game. We were forced to accept an incomplete house after 2 years of building with a MasterBuilder warranty. Guess what? We have been pleading, and chasing since then to get the pre-handover incomplete works completed with no ears. Now they are calling those incomplete and poor work quality items as house maintenance issues. Their business model is based on falsehood. The MasterBuilder (RMB) that is supposed to be the custodian of warranties has been a mute spectator, often looking other side and encouraging this business model to continue. They are very unethical and unprofessional people! Service: Home building

I visited Bhawesh's house built by A1 Homes to have a walk through and felt like incomplete jobs, poor workmanship and poor design throughout the house. E.g. 1) Large foldable doors for laundry in Garage. After installing washing machine, doors can't be shut, what's the point of having a door here when the depth was not sufficient. Customer should have been advised here. 2) Staircase for attic access in garage: Waste of money for installing attic stairs as attic space is not sufficient to justify cost. Moreover, stairs were installed just under garage door rails and so can't be opened after installing garage door. Eventually door rails were cut/adjusted to allow opening of attic staircase. 3) Poor paint job throughout house, patches and unpainted planks in the closets. 4) Kitchen benchtop too close to the staircase and so allow little space to pass through once a bench stool is placed. Customer should have been advised here. 5) Loose Ethernet and other cables hanging off the walls throughout the living room. Even if customer asked to leave them to be used later for TV etc. But those should be better tied or kept inside the wall with plastic lid for a tidy job. Looks quite unprofessional. Can't recommend at all.

We have built our house recently while working with A1 Homes, Wellington. 1) 2+ years build time (minimum): Once you sign the contract, Your project will see a spiral of extensions with no end date. 2) Large sum of hidden costs and regular price increase: This is a regular feature during the build on top of the fixed price contract. They will force you to pay by legal threats. 3) Absence of project management. You have to manage the project by yourself with so much mental pressure. All your selections/ideas will be overridden and you will be pressed to accept everything at the end with fear of never-ending project delays. They won't mind delaying for many months. They are fully aware that you are already bleeding and can't sustain for a long period of time. 4) You and your family will be denied access to the house throughout (not even part of the contract), We got only 4 walkthroughs. You will be threatened by legal action/"delay your project tactics" if you ask for access to the site/walkthroughs. 5) Most of the selections of products will not be present on the pre-handover day, Even before you realize them as you might not be aware of many things like us. An incomplete house will be handed over with the promise of getting completed remaining items with no end date. This is by design a ploy to get out of their accountabilities. 6) Aggressive communications by every member of A1 Homes, They are one family-run business. You will NOT get any support from the MasterBuilder. Service: Home building
