A great walk in a green belt/coastal reserve. Has possible exposure to wildlife and plantings. The various stages of tide and advancement of the seasons means it can be done with regularity. Always interesting often invigorating, the fact that suburbia and commuters are evident across the estuary a short distance away adds an interesting perspective. The beauty of the boats moored or coming and going on a changing water and especially at different times of the day(sunset) is not to be underrated. Other walkers and users(cyclists) are friendly, horses , dog walkers(on leash please, penguins if not seen burrow & nest along this walk) and the occasional hopeful or triumphant fisherman. Whether you start at the onepoto boatsheds(of interest by themselves) or at the shelly bay facilities end, and how far and where you walk is up to you & the weather. Recommend with visitors, friends, family or just your thoughts on any day . .
