NORTH CITY HALAL MEAT

This will be a strange review because I can't review the taste of the meat but I can review the customer service. I've been looking for a butcher to sell me a very small quantity of meat, which is a bit of an odd request. I don't eat red meat much but my blue-tongue lizard does. After another butcher in porirua turned me down I headed here and they were happy to accommodate me and were very friendly and polite. And if it means anything my lizard loves it!

Very disappointing that I went on Monday to buy goat and they gave me lamb which I realised today after cooking. The meat was kept in freezer and took out today for cooking. While washing and cooking I thought the smell is quite strong so if it is actually goat or not. Once cooked and ate a piece I confirmed I got cheated with the wrong meat. I have an allergy to lamb as well and my lip is swollen and face itching while am writing this review. Never expected this from them and will never ever return. It was not frozen because I do not buy goat if its not fresh.

Ordered meat for pick up on Friday, confirmed they will be open on Friday. When we arrived for the pick up, shop sign said closed. Poor service, never bothered to call us and update regarding the change of shop hours. :(
