I have donated here for years but got a disinterested and abrupt reception as I couldn't guarantee that the clothes I'd received for donation were all washed. Will now donate elsewhere.

Not very impressed today after dealing with the assistant manager of the store today. I brought a $50 train set just b4 the recent lockdown level 4. When I brought it the store, I asked the salesperson on at the time if it worked and she didn't know but said I could bring it back if it didn't work as long as I kept my receipt and they would refund me. When I got it home and set the tracks up which were broken alot of them and put the train engine on and it's carriages it didn't work. So I had to buy new batteries cost me another $15. So I decided to return it and get my refund after lockdown when the shop was open which is today the 2nd day we have been in level 2. The assistant manager a woman was abrupt and told me no refund but would give me a store credit. I said I did not want a credit I wanted my money back. She proceeded to tell me they don't give cash refunds and they didn't have the facility to put it back onto my eft card. After much discussion she told me to come back another day to get my refund when she could organise it with her manager. I said no it had already cost me a trip to the shop, I had to park a long way away as no parks near the shop and it had cost $15 on batteries so no I wasn't coming back and I wanted my refund today. She then rang the manager and got cash out for me to refund me. She didn't want to listen, was rude and if she was my staff member she would be fired.

Some of the folk who work there who are lovely, but are let down by one woman in the Plimmerton store who is abrupt and rude. Twice dropped off designer iitems, and her comments were uncharitable and uncalled for. I wasn''t dumping rubbish, but you'd think so with the reception I was given! Plimmerton make it very clear they only want the really good stuff, I'm not good on snobbery. So I've since been taking our donations to the 6 Prosser Street, Elsdon Porirua Salvation Army and what a difference! Prosser Street staff are lovely to deal with and are grateful for the donations so I haven't left the Porirua store feeling deflated about donating good quality second hand goods. And I've seen my donated goods being sold in the Porirua store, which is nice, as haven't seen that in the Plimmerton store!
