Amazing teachers and staff at this school! Small class sizes, lots of extra curricular activities, and a great general vibe. Because it's a small role size there is so much space to play at the school - no playgrounds or green spaces have been taken over by new classrooms like a lot of other schools - in fact they're currently planning on enhancing their outdoor areas further and add new accessible playground equipment. There are opportunities to do extended learning - they offer extra Te Reo courses through Te Kura, the opportunity to enter the NZ-wide Kiwi competitions in English, Maths and Science, and extra maths competitions through Otago University. They have a dedicated art teacher and art classroom, a school band (with dedicated music room), school choir, sports teams (running club, netball, miniball and basketball are all really popular) and keyboard, singing, guitar and ukulele lessons are available after school. They have amazing school camps for yrs 5&6 and 7&8. The yr 7&8's bus to Karori West School for Technology classes once a week. The school is in such a great location in central Karori - the school regularly walks to Karori Park, Ben Burn Park, the Karori Rec Center, the Karori Library and the Karori Pool. The school recently extended their ratio of catholic to non-catholic students so it's easier than ever to enroll at the school even if you're not Catholic. All 3 of my kids love going here and are thriving in this school environment, and I love that parents are always welcome to pop into the classrooms or email the teachers so you always feel really connected with the school community.

Absolutely outrageous. I was shopping at the countdown in Karori when their students banged into me two times and all cut in front of me at the cheakbout while giving me dirty looks. I contacted the school but got a response saying our kids would never do such a thing. Don't send your kids here.
