Montessori at Otari Preschool

Montessori at Otari is such a wonderful preschool. The kaiako (teachers) are brilliant and offer a nurturing, attentive, and respectful approach true to the philosophies of Montessori. The environment is idyllic, with a perfect space nestled within the Otari school, and the surrounding nghere (native bush) allows for weekly exploration. On top of all of that goodness, the parent and whnau (family) community is friendly, supportive and engaged. Our first child loves going to this preschool, and we are all looking forward to our second child joining them soon.

Montessori at Otari Preschool is the most wonderful preschool. We sent our two older children there & are thrilled to now have our third in attendance. Not only are the teachers & environment a place where your child can thrive but the whole preschool has such an amazing sense of community.

My son has attended this preschool since August 2022 and we just LOVE it. The teachers, head and admin are so supportive. Nothing is too hard, and every child is given the unique care and understanding they need. My son struggles with focus and feeling trapped indoors. He's also had some difficulties with his diet and toileting. The staff here have supported him, and us, every step of the way. He has learned so much here already. The sincere love and warmth he's received has really drawn him out. As his mum, I've also struggled, not wanting to be a burden and feeling guilt over the extra attention we sometimes need. The staff are gentle with me too, and I've learned much from their wisdom. The environment is beautiful, surrounded by trees with a beautiful garden area and big sandpit. The kids are so happy, you can see it in their faces. They are trusted to be independent and to follow their own interests. If you have the opportunity, don't hesitate to trust your little one with these amazing kaiako.
