        Located right opposite to the Observatory. Not a lot of sign from the Cable Car to the Gun but follow the path to the Observatory and you will find it. There is a bit of history information on site too. The gun is free to touch and climb

        This is a beautiful place to admire Wellington from up high, enjoying the gardens and bird life, all marred by this appalling display of a weapon of war designed by a German arms manufacturer responsible for so much death in two world wars. Stick the Krupp gun in the war museum in Wairoa, not where kids and others come to play and relax. I get the history but feel trophies of war need to be somewhere else.
