NumberWorks'nWords Tutoring Karori

Our son has been attending Karori NumberWorks'nWords for the past 4 years. Our lives are busy, we wanted our sons education experience with Maths and English to be enjoyable and positive from the start. We visited the Karori NumberWorks'nWords and were impressed by their professionalism, communication, flexible lesson times and fit with the school curriculum. By attending NumberWorks'nWords from an early age his confidence and approach to all subjects and activities is positive. Most importantly he loves it! Great value for money. My two sons have been going to NumberWorks for a number of years and its made a real difference to their learning.When my youngest son first started school he had difficulties with reading. Even the basics of the alphabet were problematic for him. His teacher also picked up on his reading problems and arranged a meeting with us. He was getting frustrated by his own lack of progress and in his own words, was starting to feel dumb. A test revealed that he did have a form of dyslexia. While a strategy was developed that involved extra tuition at school and homework, we felt he needed a little extra. We decided to enrol him in the Karori branch of Number WorksnWords. I knew about their Math tuition programme as my older son was enrolled and loved it. I had spoken with Bridget Brownlee in the Karori Branch and she had suggested trying my youngest in the English programme. In our discussion Bridget mentioned some of the techniques I had been reading about. The first 6 weeks was hard for the tutors as my son had developed a negative attitude to reading and wanted to give up. However, the tutors remained positive and kept encouraging him. The NumberWorksnWords staff kept reassuring me that is would work. When he became frustrated and angry they kept encouraging him. Then overnight it all clicked into place for him and he got it! My youngest son has now entered college a confident learner.

My children have been supported in Mathematics and English for many years by Bridget at NumberWorks'nWords in Karori. The tutoring has made a real difference to their confidence and success at school, and the tutors have been excellent in their knowledge and support. I highly recommend NumberWorks'nWords for any child that needs additional support or wants to feel really confident in Mathematics and English.

My daughter was always less confident in Math. Under the professional and friendly tuition of Bridgets team in Karori during primary years she improved dramatically. Now in college she has found her stride and I honestly dont think that would have been the case without the support/tuition from NumberWorksnWords. Building that confidence and ability in those intermediate years was pivotal. Same goes for the writing skills- just upped the levels across the board. A big relief to be starting college in a strong position. Thanks very much Bridget and the team.
